Canada Work Permit Program

Canada's work permit program allows foreign nationals to work temporarily in the country. There are two main types:

  1. Open Work Permit: No job offer is required, and the worker can work for any employer. It's available for spouses of skilled workers or international students, as well as refugees and post-graduation work permit holders.

  2. Employer-Specific Work Permit: Requires a valid job offer and an LMIA (Labor Market Impact Assessment) from the employer, indicating that no Canadian worker is available for the job.

Eligibility Requirements include:

  • Proof of job offer or employer support.

  • Sufficient funds to support yourself and your family while in Canada.

  • No criminal record (background check may be required).

  • Intent to leave Canada upon work permit expiration.

Certain programs may have additional requirements based on the job or location.
